How do the self portraits work?
The Self-Portrait Mirror
The Self Portrait mirror box allows subjects to see exactly how they will appear in their photograph, rather than guess what their picture will look when a timer goes off. More than simply a reflection of those in the picture, the mirror also diffuses light onto subjects, similar to a professional photo shoot. Our all wood, freestanding mirror is stylish, portable, versatile, and needs minimal space to set up.
In addition to our portable units, Self-Portrait mirrors can be installed in venues or custom built as part of larger-scale, dynamic activations. Click here to read more about our custom Self-Portrait experiences.
The Self-Portrait Trigger
Self Portrait Southeast can be configured with two remote types: a foot pedal, and a handheld remote. Each trigger gives users control of when the camera takes a picture, and lets them snap as man photos as they want. This level of control ensures great pictures every time, but also opens the opportunity surprising candids. In addition to the aforementioned foot pedal and hand remote, the camera can also be activated by sound, physical gesture, or even a users’ iPhone via our proprietary app. Once triggered, photos are pushed remotely to an on-site iPad running our custom sharing software.
The Self-Portrait Software
Our proprietary app runs on a mobile device embedded in the side of the mirror unit. It enables guests to text or email photos to themselves as soon as they're done taking them. (The option to offer photo prints is also available.) The process is built on a decade of experience at all size events and is simple, streamlined and eco-friendly.
We also offer custom photo overlays and outgoing accompanying messages, social media handles and hashtags. The app can also be customized to include an opt-in waiver system if needed.
